The Necks are one of the most distinctive and enthralling groups in music. Last November they took up residency at Cafe OTO, performing six sets over three sold out nights that were every bit as mesmeric as we could have hoped. We're delighted to welcome them back for another three nights that promise to be just as special. The hard-earned, almost telepathic rapport that Chris Abrahams, Lloyd Swanton and Tony Buck have developed over the past 26 years is truly one of the most compelling in live music and it's a privilege to have them back here at OTO.
“The Necks are one of the great spectacles in live music that I’ve come across in the past decade or so; if you have tickets for tonight or tomorrow, I can’t begin to explain how much I envy you.” - John Mulvey, Uncut - review of the first night of the 2013 OTO residency

Together for 26 years the Australian cult trio, The Necks, have enthralled audiences worldwide with their compelling style of improvisation. Defying orthodox description, not entirely avant-garde, nor minimalist, nor ambient, nor jazz, their music is regularly described internationally as, simply, unique.
Featuring lengthy pieces of slow-form development which build in mesmerizing, epic fashion frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove, their performances are never less than phenomenal.
