Sutherland is a Canadian intermedia artist. His aesthetic practice is a hybrid that pivots on the creation of work blurring the borders between poetry, visual art, music and performance art. His texts, objects, videos and installations often investigate the conflicting principles of authority in language, images and sound and have featured in galleries, performances, festivals and solo shows throughout the world. He is a member of SOCAN (The Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers of Canada) and the League of Canadian Poets.
