ASDA (Vessel & Chester Giles) + The Bomber Jackets + Ewa Justka

No Longer Available

“ASDA is Young Echo members Seb Gainsborough and Chester Giles. They started writing and recording tracks together in June 2014 drawn together by a common ennui and love of visceral and honest expression. Named after the 24 hour supermarket where they would meet before sessions to shoplift and people watch their first release was in Feb 2015 , a 10" on the FuckPunk Label entitled "three tracks" followed in May 2016 by the mini album "The Abyss" released on No Corner records. They play sporadic live shows marked by an intense and cathartic nature and are currently at work writing and recording their next album.”

Ewa Justka

Ewa Justka is a Polish electronic noise artist, self taught instruments builder and electronics teacher based in London. She currently studies MA Computational Arts at Goldsmiths College.

Justka’s main field of research is based on exploration of materiality of objects, vibrant, ontological systems (human bodies, plants’ bodies, electronic circuits: varied range of micro and macro environments and relations between them) and an investigation of modes of quasi-direct perception through noise performance actions, interactive installation, DIY electronics, hardware hacking, plant-molesting, breaking, deconstructing and collaborating. In her artistic work Ewa attempts to explore the concept of materiality of the hidden.

The Bomber Jackets

The Bomber Jackets are the London based trio of Russell Walker, Daniel Bolger and Sian Dorrer. The former two names you may recognise from their roles in prolific post-punk nitwits the Pheromoans, whilst the latter has played in various groups in London’s thriving DIY scene and opened the notorious London venue Power Lunches. Founded by Walker and Bolger after the death of an ill-fated trio with Nik Void who went on to find greater fame and fortune with Factory Floor, the group was originally augmented by the drumming skills of Wetdog member Sarah Datblygu. This line-up recorded and released their debut on the cassette imprint of the short-lived Sex is Disgusting label, before misfortune hit Walker and Bolger for a second time with Datblygu upping sticks for the USA. Bowing out from her role she gave permission for the two to continue under the condition that her replacement was female, so the two recruited former Plug drummer Sian Dorrer on electronic drums who gave the group a more defined electronic sound and an opportunity to seize some sort of stride with cassettes, lathes and 7”s for various labels like Night People and Night School.
