Mick Turner is an Australian artist and musician, known as guitarist with acclaimed instrumental group Dirty Three, along with being a seminal figure in Australian 1980's post punk being a member of Venom P Stinger, Sick Things and Fungus Brains He has also lent his unique musical prose upon recordings by Cat Power, Bonnie Prince Billy and Nick Cave. Mick has been making solo instrumental records since 1997 for Chicago label Drag City.

In addition to playing with Jim White and Warren Ellis, Mick also runs the Dirty Three's record label, Anchor & Hope Records and has painted the cover illustration for all of their major albums except their first. He has had art exhibitions around Australia and internationally. Turner has also released three solo albums under his own name, two albums with Jessica Billey under the moniker Bonnevill, as well as a single credited to "Tren Brothers & Sister" featuring Turner, White & Billey.

“Mick Turner’s music rocks and lurches, yaws and tacks like a small boat in choppy water. Throughout his career as a band member and solo artist, but especially on his new album Don’t Tell the Driver, the Australian guitarist favors listing rhythms and loose meters that suggest unrehearsed spontaneity but also tribulation, peril, even a touch of seasickness.” – Pitchfork
