SOLO:DUO:TRIO is a monthly night of improvised performances bringing together a wide variety of musicians and artists. Each show features a solo, a duo, and a trio performance where performers are invited to present something new or play with a person they haven’t played with before in an intimate and open environment.

David Toop has been developing a practice that crosses boundaries of sound, listening, music and materials since 1970. This encompasses improvised music performance, writing, electronic sound, field recording, exhibition curating, sound art installations and opera. It includes eight acclaimed books, including Rap Attack (1984), Ocean of Sound (1995), Sinister Resonance (2010), Into the Maelstrom (2016), Flutter Echo(2019) and Inflamed Invisible: Writing On Art and Sound 1976-2018 (2019). Briefly a member of David Cunningham’s pop project The Flying Lizards in 1979, he has released fourteen solo albums, from New and Rediscovered Musical Instruments on Brian Eno’s Obscure label (1975) and Sound Body on David Sylvian’s Samadhisound label (2006) to Entities Inertias Faint Beings (2016) and Apparition Paintings (2021). His 1978 Amazonas recordings of Yanomami shamanism and ritual were released on Sub Rosa as Lost Shadows (2016). In recent years his collaborations include Rie Nakajima, Akio Suzuki, Tania Caroline Chen, John Butcher, Ken Ikeda, Elaine Mitchener, Henry Grimes, Sharon Gal, Camille Norment, Sidsel Endresen, Alasdair Roberts, Lucie Stepankova, Fred Frith, Thurston Moore, Ryuichi Sakamoto. Curator of sound art exhibitions including Sonic Boom at the Hayward Gallery (2000), his opera – Star-shaped Biscuit – was performed in 2012.
Dimitra Lazaridou-Chatzigoga (Thessaloniki, Greece) is a musician and linguist based in London. She is active in experimental and improvised music since 2006. She plays the zither, a string instrument, and uses ebows and objects on its resonance box to produce sustained or granulated sounds. Her approach focuses on the interplay between spontaneity and elaborate techniques.
Recently, Mikroton released ‘Borough’ that documents the singular meeting of ‘The Holy Quintet’ with Johnny Chang, Jamie Drouin, Dominic Lash and David Ryan.
In the last few years she has been performing mainly in and around London, while most recent shows have been in Berlin. At the moment, she is exploring multiple ways to reroute her music.

Luciano Maggiore is a Palermo-born, London-based musician whose work is characterised by the use of speakers and analogue/digital devices (samplers, CD players, Walkmans, tape recorders) and which addresses the performativity of the musical act, the perception of it, and the obscurity that emanates from it. His interests include mechanisms of sound diffusion, performance, repetition, endurance, non-human animal languages, dance and folklore. With Louie Rice, he started NO-PA/PA-ON, a project that deals with performing score-based works, both acoustic and amplified.

Angharad Davies is a Welsh violinist based in London working with free-improvisation, compositions and performance.Her approach to sound involves attentive listening and exploring beyond the sonic confines of her instrument, her classical training and performance expectation.
Much of her work involves collaboration. She has long standing duos with Tisha Mukarji, Dominic Lash and Lina Lapelyte and plays with Common Objects, Cranc and Skogen. She has been involved in projects with Tarek Atui, Tony Conrad, Richard Dawson, Gwenno, Roberta Jean, Jack McNamara, Rie Nakajima, Tim Parkinson, Eliane Radigue, Georgia Ruth and J.G.Thirlwell.
Most of her records are released on Another Timbre but she also has releases on Absinth Records, Confrontrecords, Emanem, Potlatch and winds measure recordings.Her first orchestral piece was commissioned by LCMF in 2019.
Born 1960 New York. Moved to Europe in 1990 and is currently based in Zurich, where he is active as a musician, artist and writer.
Kahn's work with electronics involves chaotic feedback systems and placing his body in the circuit flow. Grabbing open leads with his hands makes and breaks circuits, causing the synth to overload or collapse. Various contact microphones and electro magnetic inductors and the synthesizer's own output via a mixing board are used to modulate the parameters of the synth, which oscillates between saturation and a brittle sputtering, like the death rattle of a machine on its last gasp. Live radio captures during the concert and recordings made in the performance space and its environs provide further working material for each concert. These performances are essentially site-specific works, improvising with the space at hand, both in the sense of its physicality and the sounds found there.
Among many others, Kahn has collaborated with Kevin Drumm, Jason Lescalleet, Norbert Möslang, Günter Müller, Axel Dörner, Tetuzi Akiyama, Toshimaru Nakamura, Magda Mayas, Mark Wastell, Oliva Block, Chris Abrahams, Arnold Dreyblatt, Alan Courtis, Ulrich Krieger, Sainkho Namtchylak Z'ev, Shelley Hirsch, Peter Kowald, Taku Sugimoto and Elliott Sharp.
Christian Wolfarth is a Swiss Percussionist. Born in Zurich in 1960 and moved to Bern in 1981 where he studied under Billy Lewis Brooks at Swiss Jazz Schoolfrom 1982 to 1986. Then, he studied under Pierre Favre at Konservatorium Luzern (1992–96) and had an education in the field of composing under Siegfried Kutterer in Basel (1995).
He worked with musicians like Christine Sehnaoui, Burkhard Beins, Urs Leimgruber, Jacques Demierre, Enrico Malatesta, Ingar Zach, Evan Parker, Albert Mangelsdorff, Werner Lüdi, Paul Lovens, Norbert Möslang, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Hans Koch, Simon Picard or Jürg Solothurnmann and participated in interdisciplinary projects in the fields of theater, movies, videos, contemporary music and dance (such as Dance-Company of Nina F. Schneider). In 1996, he published his first solo album 3-3-2. After the For4Ears, he published his second solo album Wolfarth in 2005. In 2009, he established his own label hiddenbell records. His later solo albums were published under this label. In duet formations, he collaborated with Irène Schweizer, Donat Fisch (Circle & Line), Michael Vorfeld (Vorwolf) and also Joke Lanz (Tell). In trios, he played with Jason Kahn and Günter Müller, with Michel Wintsch und Christian Weber (WWW), and also with Tomas Korber and Christian Weber (Mersault). Besides, he worked in a duet with the guitarist Christian Buck.
