A pheonomenal solo player, as well as a collaborator with the likes of Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, Keith Rowe and Kevin Drumm, Sugimoto's playing combines a deceptively gentle style with enormous range and depth.
Before performing in a special dup with violinist Angharad Davies, Taku treated us to a solo set which highlights the way the guitarist explores the role of silence in shaping and subverting the musical event. He's been kind enough to share this music for free, so you can give it a listen below.
