Thurston Moore Group presents a London concert with partial proceeds benefiting Cafe OTO.*
The Group, will feature Thurston Moore with My Bloody Valentine‘s Deb Googe on bass and baritone bass guitar, Nøught’s James Sedwards on electric guitar, and The Oscillation’s Jem Doulton on drums filmed live on the Cafe OTO stage. Off stage, and streamed into the live mix via online transmission San Francisco-based electronic musician Jon Leidecker (aka Wobbly) will join the Group to present work from Thurston Moore’s new album BY THE FIRE.
Through live feed, The Group will present new work from their latest full length album BY THE FIRE just released from The Daydream Library Series.

Thurston Moore, known in London as a frequent collaborator among Cafe OTO’s improvised music community, is internationally known as one of the founders of American band Sonic Youth. Moore records and performs in a cavalcade of disciplines ranging from free improvisation to acoustic composition to black/white metal/noise disruption. He has worked and toured with Yoko Ono; recorded and performed with John Zorn, David Toop, Stephen O’Malley, Cecil Taylor, Faust, Glenn Branca and many others. Thurston’s residencies at The Louvre in Paris included collaborations with Irmin Schmidt of CAN. Alongside his various activities in the musical world, he is involved with publishing and poetry, and teaches writing at The Jack Kerouac School at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado –a school founded by Allen Ginsberg and Anne Waldman in 1974. Thurston also teaches music at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory (Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium) in Copenhagen.
James Sedwards is an experimental, avant-punk, prog and noise-rock guitarist known and founding member of the stellar band Nøught. James and Thurston began collaborating in 2012 and performed together with Glenn Branca in Paris.
Deb Googe is an accomplished guitarist and bass guitarist, and is founding member of My Bloody Valentine, and also founded and toured with group Snow Pony. BY THE FIRE is the fourth album Deb has created with Thurston Moore.
Jem Doulton is a London-based percussionist and the principal drummer on the new Thurston Moore album. He also works with The Oscillation and tours with Róisín Murphy.
Wobbly / Jon Leidecker is an electronic musician who’s live and studio collaborations include work with Negativland, Dieter Moebius & Tim Story, Matmos, Fred Frith and many others. Since 2018 Wobbly has toured as a member of The Thurston Moore Group.
