Sylvain Chauveau has made solo records on labels such as FatCat , Sub Rosa, Type , Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier, Brocoli , Flau : minimal, quiet compositions for acoustic instruments, electronics, and sometimes voice.

He has played live around Europe, in North America, in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Singapore) and in Russia. One of his compositions features on the compilation XVI Reflections on Classical Music (Decca / Universal) alongside with Philip Glass, Max Richter, Gavin Bryars, Ryuichi Sakamoto & Alva Noto, and Hauschka.

He has composed a 7 year long piece entitled You Will Leave No Mark On The Winter Snow , full of silence and featuring only seventeen moments of hearable sounds, that played online from 1.06.2012 to 31.05.2019.

He also makes sound installations and soundtracks for feature films and dance shows. Sylvain Chauveau is a member of ensemble 0 (co-directed with Stéphane Garin), and of Arca (with Joan Cambon).

He was born in Bayonne (France) in 1971 and currently lives in Brussels (Belgium).
