Fay Nicolson works with painting, performance and song. With a career spanning both gallery and performance spaces, Fay cuts a dynamic line between the visual and experiential, searching out connections between disciplines and senses. Fay draws from both intuition and the history of experimental music education (Dalcroze’s Eurythmics) to play with vocal and visual gestures, harmony and dissonance, pattern and repetition. Her compositions mine various performance histories; from folk, Early Music, grunge and Avant Garde theatre. Performative works include SPA SONGS, a song cycle for 7 voices, Brunel Museum, 2018 and OVER AND OVER PURE FORM, Kunstraum, 2016. Fay will perform an experimental set for one voice and loop station.
