Jenna Collins

Jenna Collins is an artist based in London who works with video, text and music. She makes works about narrative and filmmaking that are by turns dark, funny, deadpan and surreal. Born in London in 1973 she moved to Manchester in the early 90’s, experimenting with the creative potential of computers and the internet with the group IDEA, returning to London in 2006 to undertake MA and PhD/doctoral studies at Goldsmiths and Kingston School of Art.

Collins frequently works in collaboration; with artist and musician Paul Carr (performances at art Camden Arts Centre 2014, and Modern Art Oxford 2015); with artist Rachel Cattle (performances include the ICA 2016); with sound collective Erinyes (performances include Deptford X 2016 and the RCA 2017); with We Are Publication collective (includes broadcasts on Resonance FM 2015); and with artist Alice Rekab (exhibition and performance at Five Years Gallery and forthcoming performance at the Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston). Her solo video and sound works have been exhibited and screened widely including Quick Millions, London; Case Victor Hugo, Havana, Cuba, and the 59th London International Film Festival, with works for radio broadcast on Radiophrenia FM Glasgow, and Radio Quancitca, Lisbon, Portugal.
