Luca George's playful, humorous and performative work explores narratives that situate romanticism and myth within the everyday. Across sculpture, installation, video, drawing, writing and performance he incorporates themes of authenticity, authorship, collective anxiety and the uncanny. Alongside his physical practice his deliberately misleading use of Instagram serves as a constant reminder that things are not always as they seem online. His work has been exhibited and performed internationally at institutions including, Tate Britain, London; Milleu, Bern; Mischiefs, Stockholm; Gallery Gallery, Antwerp; Science Museum, London; Palazzo Fontana, Venice; CCA, Glasgow; Workplace Gallery, Gateshead.
