Waste Paper Opera is an experimental research and performance art collective, founded in Birmingham in 2012 and based in London.

Their current project, Free to Choose is a metaverse animation and live performance work in collaboration with Bahar Noorizadeh, has been screened at Singapore Art Museum, Taipei Biennale, and Beirut Art Center, and live performances have been mounted at Iklectik, and Media Lab Matadero, Madrid. Dead Cat Bounce: an oratorio about finance and catastrophe, developed in collaboration with Gary Zhexi Zhang, was premiered at Somerset House, and is touring in 2024.
