Another excellent line-up from EARWORM - the live events arm of London-based noise artist James Shearman - run in tandem with the digital and small editions platform Small Worm.
The queer pain electronics behemoth of Bath, Alina Church, has been making noise under the Distraxi alias for some years now. With mind blowing releases on such reputable noise holes as Outsider Art, Brachliegen Tapes, Mima Kass and Bent Window Records. She is also the label head of her own small imprint, Ridge Tapes.
Having left their previous role conducting Sonic Terror Rituals for the souls of the damned, deep in the grottiest reaches of Tartarus, Monika Badly now roams the corporeal planes looking for a more enthusiastic audience. ‘After a millennia in Hell these forsaken dead simply have no appreciation for the finer details of the Audio-Visual Sonic Torture experience’, The Arch-Goblin was quoted muttering to themselves as they lugged a case of infernal hardware onto the express lift up to the mortal realm. Well, Hell’s loss is our gain, as now our fresh and living forms can be terrorised as only the well and truly damned have previously been able to experience. Lucky us?
Meat Strap are a duo from South London, in which Delia Detritus plays drums, and Max K Weaver plays electric guitar. Spawned from many years of private improvisation and close friendship, their sound is a constantly shifting thing - from violent spasms of ecstatic noise, to wide and shivering ambiences, to interlocking grids of elastic rhythms. Every performance is a spontaneous musical composition, but with a guiding structure decided in advance - designed to toy with the contextual baggage of the venue and the cowardly expectations of the audience. The band’s name means girl-dick.

Henry Prince is a solo improviser from France and based in London. His pieces use microtonal harmony and pedals on the fretless bass to create abstract and textural pieces within a narrative structure. His new EP "His body is sturdy and the skin, puckered by the cold, hugs ligneous muscles" is out on Sept 18th on the Lost Wisdom label. He performs regularly in Verklempt, an improv noise/jazz band, and has an album coming soon composed for brass ensemble.

Shearman is a noise being of (deep) Leytonstone. He carves noise out of objects and ephemera - he kneels at the altar of feedback, lies down in the slowly lapping undulations of seas of static and harsh noise viscera.
