Garazi Navas is a restless accordionist who, despite her youth, has participated in a multitude of projects performing contemporary, classical, traditional and other styles of music. Born in Usansolo (Bizkaia) in 1995, she completed a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Musical Performance at Musikene (Higher Music Center of the Basque Country), playing as a soloist with the BOS (Bilbao Symphony Orchestra) in several theaters in Bizkaia with Iker Sánchez conducting. She has also played within the BOS at the Campos Elíseos Theater in Bilbao under Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Ernest Martínez Izquierdo and Jordi Francés conducting, and with the EIO (Basque Student Orchestra) at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid, Kursaal de Donostia, National Auditorium of Zaragoza and Euskalduna of Bilbao. She has performed at festivals such as the “Caprichos Musicales de Comillas” (Cantabria) or the “Zarata Fest” in Bilbao. She participated as an accordionist in the audiovisual installation “Partitura” by the Cuban artist Carlos Garaicoa at the Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao and has played as a soloist with the Musikene symphony orchestra at the Kursaal in Donostia. She regularly collaborates with artists from different disciplines on projects with dance, poetry, theater or artistic installations, both alone and with various groups.
“Timeless minimalistic approach to composition braced by repetition and playfulness. Alberto’s music reflects calm, focus and intimacy. Ethereal and atmospheric, his pieces operate within the digital as well as the analogue realm in equal measures. Highest possible recommendation for fans of Suso Saiz, Jon Hassel, Eno or Harold Budd”
Alberto Lizarralde (Zaldibia, Basque Country) is one of the founders of the first school of Improvisational jazz and contemporary music (Jazzle) established in San Sebastián in the early 90’s. Alberto is a well-known figure among Basque musicians but not so much amongst the general public. In his CV we find: Direction of Plaza Festival, Zirrara Jazz record label, his work as a producer/editor (editions 3e argitalpenak) and the direction of the audiovisual installation “JA Artzeren Unibertsoa” as well as the arrangements and composition for the” Iparraguirre 7” project, both audiovisual projects focusing on Basque poetry and sound art.
