OTO PROJECT SPACE: HOW TO GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD – A two-hour vocal workshop led by Vivienne Griffin

No Longer Available

HOW TO GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD is a vocal workshop led by Vivienne Griffin that combines breathwork, extended vocal technique, with a focus on the voice in the context of contemporary art/sound practices.

This two-hour workshop draws on references from breathexperience© (Middendorf technique), locating resonance in the corporeal, somatic awakening, vocal awareness, extended vocal technique such as vocal fry, a drone choral experience, laughing, lyrical repetition and circular singing (Joan Le Barbara’s technique in circular song). These practical techniques use the body as a site to explore abstract sound and the physicality of language.

The workshop will be recorded with binaural microphones and participants will be given a copy of this recording.

You don’t have to be able to sing to join this choir.

This is a group experience; the workshop is open to all levels of singers and non-signers.
