Molt Fluid presents an evening of performance with improvised music of broken tape noise, field recordings, found sounds and feedback from live electronics from Meilt, Semay Wu, Free Magic Show and Falling Cat Problem.
Meilt is a duo project that consists of Dublin-based Dressing and Prague-based uœrhe. Their sound circles around various types of tape music while utilizing aspects of noise, field recordings, found sound and acoustic elements. Their music was once described as ‚mysterious murky tape music akin to Hands To, Yeast Culture, early Small Cruel Party‘ which ‚presents a seamless blend of styles and sounds from each: broken textural tape noise, magnetic wobble, faint buried melodies, fragments of distant voices and incidental sounds, and obscured domestic and field recordings. So far they’ve released music on Krim Kram and Philatélie.

Semay Wu is a composer, cellist, improviser, and media/sound artist. Influenced by free improvisational frameworks, Semay composes primarily in electroacoustic sounds: most recently with graphic scores, field recordings and live electronics. She has also developed video pieces, performance/interactive-installations, as well as an online audio cookbook for Manchester’s communities: Sounds Like Scran, in 2021. Semay’s solo performances use sampling and improvisation, of cello, voice and everyday objects, and has released four albums: Raspberry Hotel (Akashic Records, 2022), Sharmanka & Unsteady Stones (Scatter Archive, 2023 & 2024), and The Spinal Cactus #001 (self-released), made for her first UK tour (as solo) in 2024.

Free Magic Show is a duo of Joe Coghill and Michał Fundowicz formed when they shared a flat cluttered with music gear and disintegrating artworks. Jamming together in their Edinburgh DIY Peace Hammer Studio became a practice for the years to come. Every session of improvised magic with sound effects is different, the project mutates in time, which can be tracked on the releases on such labels as Czaszka (Rec.), Steep Gloss, Falt, tanzprocesz. Their polymorphous sound mixes analogue techniques with digital; cassette players and junk objects meeting with computer manipulation on their magicians' table.

Falling Cat Problem is the new duo project of Lucia H Chung (en creux) and Jack Chuter (Guesswork), hailing from London and Bournemouth respectively. Their sound is a slow compounding of wayward electricity and various manifestations of feedback, characterised by minimal movement and miniature agitations. This is their debut live show.
