This concert marks the UK debut of Norwegian ensemble and includes music from the group's new album, NEON: NIBLOCK/LAMB (Hubro). Described as ‘absorbing’ (The Wire) and even ‘eerie’ (Quietus), neoN’s acclaimed performance of drony Two Tea Roses by Phill Niblock’s and of the more gentle, but not less uncompromising Parallaxis Forma by Catherine Lamb, is likely to elicit strong feelings, or at any rate, to invite OTO’s audience to intense listening.
Ensemble neoN is a Norwegian contemporary music group working across artistic forms, collaborating with visual artists and performers such as Susanna, Phill Niblock, Alvin Lucier, Johannes Kreidler, Oren Ambarchi, Marina Rosenfeld, Jan St. Werner. neoN strives to listen to a world that is constantly changing. It is this attitude that keeps challenging and expanding the ensemble’s musical language. The last years Ensemble neoN has made a mark both nationally and internationally by performing at festivals like MATA, Ultima, Molde Jazzfestival, klub katarakt and Only Connect. Earlier releases include the debut album "neoN" on HUBRO and 'The Forester' with Susanna Wallumrød on SONATACD, both of which were awarded a Norwegian Grammy.
