Live painting by Gina Southgate

People Band

No Longer Available

The People Band – ‘beautiful, orgasmic, tribal’ – have been outstanding proponents of free music in UK for a long time. Lead by the late Mel Davis, they first unleashed their anarchic energies in the sixties and have recorded with Charlie Watts, appeared in Mike Figgis’ ‘Stormy Monday’, and gigged extensively throughout this country and abroad. The line up now includes all original members, Terry Day, Charlie Hart, Davey Payne, George Khan, Mike Figgis, Paul Jolly, Adam Hart and Tony Edwards.

For this date, they will be joined by Gina Southgate, who will be painting live. Still at the top of their game, the People Band will release their latest CD early in 2016 on 33Jazz Records. The album will consist mostly of live performances at Cafe OTO. Come and join them to celebrate.
