TIME PASSES THROUGH THE CITYSpecial screening with live scores

No Longer Available

Special screening-concert with live music of a forgotten modernist genre - 2 city symphonies of Vilnius, the same city 60 years apart - from 1966 and 2022 with live scores by Paulius Kilbauskas and Vykintas Kisevičius

Supported by Lithuanian Culture Institute and Lithuanian Embassy in London

TIME PASSES THROUGH THE CITY, 1966, 19 min

An abstract portrait of modernist Vilnius penetrating the old walls of the city and resurrect its phantoms. In a wordless film, the soundtrack is particularly eloquent, with contrasting juxtapositions giving the film additional subtext. From the Soviet march to Oginsky's polonaise, the sound of bells merges with the sound of a plane crossing the sky.
