Daniel Kordik and Edward Lucas are two London based improvisors who play together as a regular duo. They have developed a musical rapport that concentrates at times on the common unconventional ground found between the two instruments, and at other times on their histories in jazz and electronic music. "The trombone and the analogue synth provide a full set of cultural resonances to destabilise, disrupt and destroy. They are avatars visiting worlds where new meaning is forged in rebellious acts of listening."
- Tony Hardie-Bick

Daniel Kordik

Kordik works mainly as an improviser, music collaborator, field recordist and a regular member of the duo Jamka and duo with Edward Lucas with whom he co-runs Earshots Recordings. "Kordik’s electronics are pretty weird (...). At least some of them seem to work by Theremin-style hand control, which results in a different type of sound than if he were playing either with a keyboard or a modular-style patch." (Paul Margree)

Edward Lucas

Lucas is co-organiser (with Daniel Kordik) of the Earshots label - their long running trombone and synth duo led to the beginning of the concert series and label. He has had many associations with improvising musicians in London and beyond, including the duo here with Daniel Thompson - a CD from this duo is expected for release on Inexhaustible Editions later this Summer.
