Felipe Araya Muñoz uses cajón horizontally, employing different objects and materials on it– some made for sound and others not- rubbing, striking, sliding, dropping, waving and exciting them on its surface. Part of the essence of the work is in the transformed raw material used such as wood, metal, polymers, etc. as well as in the spaces and places that inhabit the interventions. He coordinates the Caja Panamericana de Improvisación – CPI sessions.He has been active on drums since 1994. He is an autodidact and remains in permanent exploration taking occasional drums courses, in various groups, times and places of Chile.
