Great triple bill featuring African-American sound artist and experimental ambient musician, Nexcyia, psychedlic downtempo artist, mu tate, and Montreal-based producer, Racine.
Nexcyia is an African-American sound artist and experimental ambient musician based in London and Paris. Working with found sound, Nexcyia weaves together harsh sound design and swooping soundscapes into works that bridge many moods, emotions and places through noise, granular synthesis, textures and rhythms. Nexcyia has released a debut EP "Crawl" on Alien Jams and Origin EP on Cafe OTO's in-house label Takuroku.
mu tate exists on the noisy dubbed-out fringes of what can loosely be described as ambient. With recent releases on utter and 3xl as well as a library of self-released titles, his music employs familiar images with a diffused style of psychedelia and vaporous afterimages of club music lingering in a post-party etherglow.
Racine is a Montreal-based artist, mixing and mastering engineer, producer and composer. He has four releases to his name, the most recent of which, Amitiés, was released in January 2022 on Swiss label Danse Noire, founded by Aïsha Devi. Performed on a European tour in the spring of 2020, his album Quelque chose tombe gained the attention of international media such as Fact Magazine, Resident Advisor, Borshch Magazine, Inverted-Audio and many more. During his career, he has also composed music and created sound design for several films that have been presented in movie theaters, festivals and galleries. He is a member of the duo Corporation with Keru Not Ever.
