A very special "secret show" whilst the band Thurston Moore, Deb Googe (My Bloody Valentine), Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth, Sun Kil Moon), and James Sedwards (Nøught) are together in London rehearsing new material.
The songs range from opener “Speak to the Wild”, a Crazy Horse-like paean to anti-authority and activism, to “Vocabularies”, a mantra to a new realisation of language.
The Group will also perform material never heard before.
Thurston Moore has worked collaboratively with Yoko Ono, Merce Cunningham, Cecil Taylor, Rhys Chatham, Irmin Schmidt, David Toop, John Zorn, Takehisa Kosugi and Glenn Branca. He has composed music for films by Olivier Assayas, Gus Van Sant, and Allison Anders. He presently records and tours both solo, with various ensembles and with his own band. His most recent recording with this lineup entitled The Best Day was recently released by Matador Records and described by critics as “optimistic and sun-drenched in beauty” and “[has] experimental attitude dovetailed with instantly accessible pop melodies....a record defined by positivity and radical love."
